Ciao! So Glad You're Here.

Hi, I'm Stefanie. My intrigue about the Italian people, language, culture, and way of life started (albeit a little begrudgingly) when I was 13. What can I say? My father had received a job opportunity to move to a country I knew nothing about and I was a teenager!

But, 20 years later, I went back and fell in love. It was such a visceral experience that I started to think I had long-lost Italian heritage. (Sadly, Ancestry confirmed that I do not.) That's when a friend told me that I would always be an honorary Italian.

 

I can't wait to share my thoughts on Italy -- the things that make it special and the things that I don't enjoy so much (even as its #1 fan) -- with you.

 

It will be a combination of journal and practical tips. It will be an adventure in language learning. It will be life's biggest mulligan--the chance to do something over.

 

Even if it's only for me, I want this space to be a way I remember one of the best and most formative chapters of my life (both then and now). I'm glad you're here.
